Personal/Social Development

- Provide short-term individual counseling for students
- Peer Mediation & Problem Solving Sessions
- Classroom Lessons on character pillars with an emphasis on multi-cultural awareness and respect, problem-solving skills, empathy, bullying prevention and emotion regulation. Curriculums used include Second Step, Steps to Respect, MindUp and several other multi-media resources (Kid President, Bystander Revolution, etc.)
- Small Groups:
- BREATHE-Mindfulness groups for students struggling with excessive stress or anxiety
- PUMP (it) UP- Self-Esteem/Motivation group to help students build a stronger self-concept and feel connected at school
- Circle of Friends-Friendship group that allows students to explore their strengths and weaknesses in making and retaining friendships
- Changing Families-Group for students who's families are changing (i.e. divorce/separation/remarriage
- Lead & Succeed Group-Leadership group for students that focuses on building leadership skills and decreasing relational aggression
- Keep it COOL-Impulse control group designed to help students manage impulsive behavior through using coping strategies
